Ana Alves

Madrid-born and Barcelona-based, Ana Alves approaches techno through hypnosis, tension and physicality. Her sets move patiently across the spectrum: from slow-burning, stripped-back rhythms to denser, more forceful passages where percussion, texture and pressure act as much on the mind as on the body.

There is a precision to the way Ana builds a room. Rather than chasing impact for its own sake, Ana works with gradual shifts in intensity, with deep frequencies, dark textures, restless percussion and grooves that seem to tighten around the dancefloor. The result is techno with weight and movement, but also space: her sound is immersive, direct and constantly evolving.

That same language is becoming increasingly defined in her productions. Recent work includes “Vehemencia” for Semantica Records’ Articulated Lair and her five-track Dinamo EP for Newrhythmic Records, placing her own material alongside the hypnotic and uncompromising strain of techno that has shaped her as a DJ.

Behind the decks, Ana has already taken that sound beyond Spain, including an appearance at Tresor, alongside sets at institutions such as Fabrik Madrid, Florida 135, Moog and Laut. These are not just milestones: they trace the direction of an artist becoming increasingly exact about where she belongs and what she wants her music to do.
